Vigil on the Drillfield
Many who attended the candelight vigil Sunday evening stayed to visit the April 16 Memorial. The vigil was one of many events on campus to mark the 2017 Day of Remembrance.

Saturday’s cheers of encouragement pushed 16,000 participants to run or walk 3.2 miles in remembrance of lives lost in the tragedy at Virginia Tech.

Sunday’s statewide moment of silence was followed by tears of mourning for the 32 who died, shed as their names were recited at commemoration and vigil ceremonies, 10 years to the day from April 16, 2007.

Throughout the weekend, crowds came together at Virginia Tech, and elsewhere across the nation, for shared support, reflection, and remembrance.

Scroll down to experience many of these events through video and photographs.
